Marta Infantino, Ph.D. (Palermo), LL.M. (NYU School of Law), is Assistant Professor of Comparative Law at the University of Trieste, Italy.

She has lectured in prominent academic institutions in Colombia, France, Israel, Qatar, Spain, the UK, and the US. She has hold visiting professorship in Canada, Colombia, and France. She is Associate Member of the International Academy of Comparative Law and is currently serving as a member of the Scientific Council of the European Law Institute (Vienna, 2013-2018). She chairs the ‘Tort Law Group’ within the ‘Common Core of European Private Law’ project led by Mauro Bussani and Ugo Mattei.

She has published extensively in Italian, English and French on comparative contract law, comparative tort law, human rights, and global indicators. Some of her works have been translated into Chinese and Spanish. Her monograph on causation (‘La causalità nella responsabilità extracontrattuale’, Staempfli-ESI, 2012) was awarded the Italian Lynx Academy’s prize for emerging authors in 2013.
